“Filmfare has always been a dream for me. I grew up watching Filmfare and used to enjoy watching it. People are getting recognized, which is a wonderful part of what’s being done there. Filmfare is one of the biggest moments of pride and achievement. This is the most valuable part,” Manoj told Times Now in a recent interview.
Reacting to some reports about Manoj’s indirect jibe at Naseeruddin, the actor clarified that his statement was not directed towards anyone. “Kya yaar! What is my memory of the Filmfare Awards, please listen to what I said in response! It was not an answer to anyone!” he tweeted.
In another tweet, Manoj said that he cannot even talk to Naseer bhai in a loud voice in response to the purported news reports. “Meri aukaat nahi ki main Naseer bhai se uunchi aawaz mein bhi baat kar paun! Kya-kya samachaar kahaan kahaan se,” he tweeted in Hindi.
Naseeruddin said in his interview that he is not proud of these awards and did not even go to receive the last two awards. He said that when he built his farmhouse he decided to keep the awards there, and used them as door handles to his washroom.
