Manoj Bajpayee recently opened up about his inter-faith marriage with Shabana Raza and shedded some light on the seamless blend of cultures and the acceptance within their families.
In a recent interview with Jist, Manoj was asked if he faced the social pressure back in the day since he comes from a Brahmin family and Shabana coming from a Muslim family. He said that because his parents were broad-minded and her parents were broad-minded too, they did not face any problems.
“Secondly, two people have to spend their life together. People who are wise, they never get in their way. People who are not wise, even God can’t help them,” he added.

Previously, Manoj had revealed how his family reacted to the news of their marriage. He told Barkha Dutt that Shabana’s family holds a significant reputation and their union faced no objections or complications. He had also expressed his gratitude for the harmonious acceptance from both sides, emphasizing the unity that prevails over religious differences.

Highlighting the progressive outlook within his family and the positive atmosphere surrounding their marriage, Manoj had said, “She’s a proud Muslim, and I’m a proud Hindu, but it doesn’t clash with each other.”

Manoj and Shabana met right after her debut film Kareeb in 1998 and got married in 2006. They have a daughter named Ava Nayla.
