MCOCA on man with plaint against dy CM | Nagpur News – Times of India

NAGPUR: The city police booked on Tuesday advocate Satish Uke, who had lodged a complaint with the Election Commission against then Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis.

He had accused him of suppressing information about criminal cases in his 2014 election affidavit, under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act, 1999. Apart from Uke, six others, including four of his relatives, have also been booked under MCOCA.
The development comes three months after now deputy CM Fadnavis’s lawyer, Uday Dable, admitted before a court to inadvertently leaving out information related to two pending criminal cases in Fadnavis’s 2014 poll affidavit. Uke had also filed a petition before the Nagpur court.

On January 5, Nagpur Improvement Trust divisional officer Pankaj Patil had filed a complaint against Uke and six others. As per the complaint, the accused had allegedly forged land documents. Following this, Ajni police had booked them for cheating, forgery and fraud under the IPC.
