Microsoft Corp on Tuesday began making available to users ChatGPT, its search engine Bing as well as a host of AI upgrades including cloud services – a massive launch that seeks to narrow the gap with Alphabet Inc’s Google.
In the keynote session of Microsoft Build 2023, CEO Satya Nadella announced AI Copilot stack, Copilot for Windows 11, Bing search experience for ChatGPT, Microsoft Fabric, etc.

Windows 11 is getting an AI Copilot
Microsoft is bringing its AI personal assistant, called Copilot, to Windows 11. It’s the same Assistant that Microsoft already integrates into Edge, Office apps, and GitHub.
However, Windows Copilot will remain within the taskbar. Microsoft informed that the company will begin testing it publicly next month before rolling it out to more users.
The Co-Pilot plug-in will eliminate the need to think about the interface.
Microsoft 365 will support the Copilot plug-in
The AI assistant will now support three main types of plug-ins, including Teams messaging extensions, Power Platform connectors, and tools that use ChatGPT’s technology. Users can choose from third-party plug-ins.
CoPilot 365 will soon be integrated into Microsoft Edge
Microsoft is also planning to bring 365 Copilot to Edge. The tool will be placed in the sidebar of the browser. A user can use the content on the site he or she is viewing to aid their work on projects in Microsoft 365 apps, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and others.
Windows Terminal gets an AI-powered chatbot
Microsoft said that Windows terminals are getting AI-powered chatbots through integration with GitHub Copilot. The giant is also bringing AI-generated app review summaries and introducing a new AI Hub to highlight Windows apps that use AI.
Vishal is also exploring bringing GitHub Copilot to other developer tools like WinDBG.
Bing is the default search experience for ChatGPT
Microsoft said that OpenAI will make Bing the default search engine in its ChatGPT chatbot. Starting today, ChatGPT Plus users will be able to start associating quotes surfaced by Bing with the chatbot’s responses.
