Thiruvananthapuram: Health Minister Veena GeorgeClaims that his personal staff member found involved in the attack on Rahul Gandhi’s office had left his team since the beginning of this month, after the General Administration Department (GAD) issued an order on Saturday sacking him. Team with retrospective effect from June 15.
The Health Minister had claimed on Saturday morning that Avisith KR, who was an office attendant, had left his team since the beginning of this month due to personal reasons. However, when the media reported on Saturday itself about the removal of GAD’s order from the team, the minister said, “He had sought his removal from the team for personal reasons, and I gave a letter to the general administration demanding that He was dropped from the team.”
“But this letter was not given on Friday or Saturday, as was reported in the media. This letter was given a few days back and I do not remember the exact date,” the minister said.
On the retrospective effect given in the order of his removal from the team, the minister said, “Avasith KR was not coming on duty since the beginning of this month. He had come in the first week and after that he was not regular. Then he said that he relieved himself of duty and hence we asked GAD to relieve him from duty from June 15.”
However, in the order issued by the GAD, it has been clearly stated that the personal secretary of the Health Minister had demanded the removal of GAD through a letter on June 23. The GAD has also asked Aviseth to return the identity card issued by the Home Department with immediate effect.
Condemning the attack on Rahul Gandhi’s office, the Health Minister said, the party and he himself did not support any such attack. “Had he been my personal staff, I would certainly have looked into the matter and taken appropriate action,” she said.
