Minor girl found dead, parents allege harassment by teachers

A 16-year-old girl studying in a private school in Hoskote ended her life allegedly after being subjected to torture for almost a month. The Hoskote police have booked three teachers on charges of abetment to suicide.

While the police initially filed an Unnatural Death Report (UDR) on June 20, a week later the police registered an FIR after parents lodged a complaint alleging torture by the teachers. The accused teacher is currently absconding.

police talking HinduSaid that when the incident happened, the parents had said that they were unaware of why their daughter had taken her life.

Police said that a week later, the parents alleged that they came to know from her friends that their daughter was being targeted and punished several times. The parents also alleged that the teachers forced her to kneel down and do sit-ups in front of other students.

Police said the parents informed the investigating officer that the son of a teacher working in the same school had proposed to them and threatened them of consequences if they refused.

The police also said that it was alleged in the complaint that she was crying when she came out of the room of a teacher on the day of the incident. That day many teachers called on him. Police has started investigation to know what exactly happened in the last one month.
