Minor Girl From Bengal ‘sold’ In Tonk, Rescued; 2 Arrested | Jaipur News – Times of India

Jaipur: A 15-year-old girl, who was allegedly kidnapped from Bauria police station area of Howrah (Rural) district in West Bengal in 2022, was rescued from Kherli Kanjar Basti under Aligarh police station area of Tonk on Wednesday. Police handed the girl over to her parents.
A team of West Bengal police arrested two persons, including a woman, for human trafficking.
The girl, in her statement, claimed to have eloped with her boyfriend, who had sold her to another woman on the train itself. In the preliminary inquiry, it was found that the girl was forced into prostitution.
Aligarh police in Tonk were instrumental in finding the whereabouts of the girl and worked hard to find her parents and the police station area in West Bengal from where she was kidnapped in 2022.
Suresh Kumar, station house officer of Aligarh police station in Tonk, said, “Our team had gone to Kherli Kanjar Basti and were on regular patrol when we spotted this girl, who looked different from the people living in the locality. I inquired about her, and she was scared.
Finally, with the help of women police and members of the child welfare committee, it was found that she was kidnapped by a man identified as Raju, who had handed her over to other people on the train itself. Later, a woman, Neha alias Noor Jahan, took custody of the girl and brought her to Tonk, where she was put into prostitution.”
Sanjiv Nain, superintendent of Police, Tonk, said that the police in Tonk inquired about the whereabouts and also got the details of the girl. “Our men went the extra mile to bring this case to a conclusion,” Nain added.
