Minor’s dad kills self after Pocso accused on bail threatens him | Jaipur News – Times of India

Jaisalmer: A 20-year-old man charged under the Pocso Act came out on bail five days ago and harassed the father of his victim so much that he ended his life by jumping into a water tank 200 metres away from his house on Sunday.
The Pocso accused in May this year eloped with the 16-year-old daughter of the deceased. The father lodged a case of molestation and rape against him and he was arrested by Barmer Rural police.He received bail from Balotra Pocso court on December 12. On Sunday at 11am, he reached the father’s house and threatened to kill the family and said that he will again take away his daughter. In the evening, the father committed suicide, Barmer Rural SHO Sawai Singh said.
Singh said that the grandfather of the girl lodged a report on Sunday, based on which a case was lodged against the accused and police were searching for him. The father’s body was handed over to family members after postmortem on Monday.
According to the report of the grandfather, the accused is a resident of the same village and after coming out on bail, he began to threaten to kill their family. The deceased was the sole earning member of the family and worked as a farmer, SHO Singh said.

The probe team added Abdul Rasheed as an accused based on circumstantial evidence and the suicide note mentioning his role in the dowry demand. The forensic team is examining the mobile phones of Shahana and Ruwise to retrieve deleted chats.
Riots case: SC grants bail to 35 accused
The Supreme Court has granted bail to 35 accused persons of Old Hubballi riots case on Friday. Mohammed Yousuf Savanur, president of Anjuman-E-Islam, Hubballi-Dharwad, attended the hearing. Earlier, 11 accused were granted bail. Anjuman-E-Islam provided legal support to the accused persons, including poor autorickshaw drivers, bar-benders, and construction workers.
