Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty was discharged from a private hospital in Kolkata on Monday afternoon after being admitted on Saturday morning due to symptoms suggestive of Ischemic Cerebrovascular Accident, commonly known as a stroke caused by the blockage of an artery leading to the brain by a blood clot.
Upon his release, Mithun candidly addressed his health and lifestyle choices.”I eat like a demon. So I was punished. My advice for everyone is to control your diet. Those who are diabetic should not have the misconception that consuming sweets will not make any difference. Control your diet,” he told the media while reflecting on his own experience.

Mithun assured that he is absolutely fine, adding that he has to keep control of his food habits. He also mentioned that he may start working soon, maybe tomorrow. Earlier in the day, the actor’s health condition had been reviewed by senior doctors and therapists.

The superstar also disclosed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had personally contacted him on Sunday. “I got a scolding for not taking care of my health,” he added, acknowledging Modi’s sincere gesture. Additionally, BJP MP Dilip Ghosh visited Mithun during his hospital stay.
