MK Stalin reshuffles Cabinet, drops Dairy Minister, inducts TRB Raja in Council of Ministers

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Dairy Development Minister SM Nassar has been dropped from the MK Stalin-led cabinet and TRB Raja has been inducted into the Council of Ministers. A Raj Bhavan statement on Tuesday said Governor RN Ravi has accepted CM Stalin’s recommendations. This is the second reshuffle in the cabinet headed by Stalin, who will take office in 2021.

The statement said the chief minister has recommended to the governor “the inclusion of Dr. TRB Raja, (MLA) Mannargudi constituency in the Council of Ministers.” Ravi has approved the recommendation.

Raja heads the DMK IT wing.

Besides this, the Governor has also approved the recommendation of the CM “to remove SM Nasar, Minister of Milk and Dairy Development, from the Council of Ministers”.

Nasar was in limelight a few months ago for allegedly throwing stones at a party worker over some issue, a video of which went viral, drawing criticism from several quarters.

Raja is the son of senior party leader and Lok Sabha MP TR Baalu. The Raj Bhavan said that the MLA would take the oath of office on May 11.
