Modi pokes one eye, and his other eye sheds tears: Stalin | Chennai News – Times of India

CHENNAI: Chief minister M K Stalin took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for regretting that Tamil was not his mother tongue and accused him of being a hypocrite.
In a post on X, Stalin pointed out that Modi passed the remark on Friday evening, but earlier in the day, the Union government declared that the Hindi word ‘Akasavani’ would replace the beautiful Tamil word ‘Vanoli’ henceforth.

“This shows the hypocritical nature of Modi and the Union government. Even Modi’s eyes would not believe his tears and how would Tamil people believe him,” he said.

Stalin questioned Modi’s sudden affection towards the Tamil language. “Modi pokes one eye, and his other eye sheds tears,” Stain said.

He accused the PM of giving priority to Hindi over Tamil and pointed out that Modi had not fulfilled his promise made in 2019 that announcements in the flights bound to destinations in Tamil Nadu and departing from airports in the state would be made in Tamil. “Forget about the flights, the security guards deployed at the airports in the state do not know Tamil or English,” he said.
He asked why Modi, who had been campaigning in English earlier, now started addressing campaigns in Hindi in the state. He said Modi’s promises of recovering black money, protecting fishermen and generating two crore job opportunities had dissolved in thin air.

“Hindi everywhere! Hindi in anything is the only unfortunate achievement of the Modi government,” he said.
“Disappointment would be the reward for the group of crooks, who use the Tamil language (for political gains),” he said.
