More CCTVs, additional lights will be installed at Kharagada bus stand. Ranchi News – Times of India

Ranchi: Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) has decided to step up security in Ranchi’s Khadgara bus stand area, where nine buses were torched on June 29. The city police have already nabbed a minor for his alleged involvement in the crime.
Additional Administrator of RMC said that the bus stand has 32 cctv cameras, but after review they have decided to increase them to cover the entire campus. “We will soon install more cameras besides enhancing lighting in areas that are currently untouched. The idea is to prevent such incidents from happening in future,” he said.
He also said that places have been identified for the cameras. “Apart from cameras, more than 20 lights will be installed. Security personnel will also be deployed to monitor visitors’ movements and identify any suspicious behaviour. The number of home guards will also be increased from six to 16,” he said, adding that if all goes well, the additional cameras will be fully set up for operation in another fortnight.
