Muzaffarpur Couple Run Over By Train | Patna News – Times of India

Patna: A Muzaffarpur civil court clerk and his wife were mowed down by a running train on Muzaffarpur-Samastipur railway tracks in Kaji Mohammadpur police station area of the district on Sunday. Police said prima facie, it was an accident, however, not ruling out a suicide pact. Eyewitnesses, on the other hand, said wife Anuradha Ojha (32) died while trying to rescue her husband Amit Kumar (37).
Police said during primary investigation, the local residents claimed that husband came in front of the train first and when his wife tried to rescue him, she too got run over.
Kaji Mohammadpur station house officer Manoj Kumar, however, said prima facie, the incident seems to be an accident, though there might be a chance of it being a suicide pact.
“The couple, who lived in a rented house in Brahmapura, had got married in 2017 and was childless. Anuradha was under treatment for the issue at a private nursing home,” he said, adding the statements of the family members were yet to be recorded. “Amit’s parents fell unconscious soon after hearing about the death of their only son. They are admitted to a private hospital. We are waiting for the parents to get back to their senses. No complaints have been filed yet by any other family member. We are investigating all possible angles.”
The mutilated bodies of the couple were sent to SKMCH, Muzaffarpur, for postmortem.
