A panchayat in Goa on Wednesday issued a “stop work” notice to Telugu actor Nagarjuna over alleged illegal construction and excavation work in North Goa’s Mandrem village. Sarpanch of Mandrem Panchayat Amit Sawant has issued the notice under the Goa Panchayat Raj Act 1994. As per the notice, the respondent has been involved in illegal activity in the jurisdiction of the village.

“Whereas it has been noticed by this Panchayat that you are carrying out alleged illegal construction and quarrying in the property survey no.

211/2B in Ashwawada, Mandrem, Village without obtaining prior permission from the competent authorities and this Panchayat,” the notice reads.

The panchayat warned of necessary action under the Goa Panchayat Raj Act 1994 if the work was not stopped immediately.

Talking about films, Nagarjuna appeared in three films this year. He also made his Hindi film debut as he played a small role in Ayan Mukerji’s action-adventure film Brahmastra, which was Ranbir Kapoor And Alia Bhatt, His two Telugu releases were Bangaraju and The Ghost. Both opened to a mixed response at the box office but did well when they reached OTT. The Ghost trended well especially on its digital premiere on Netflix India.

He is currently hosting Bigg Boss Non-Stop, the OTT version of Bigg Boss Telugu o streaming platform Disney+Hotstar.
