‘need Metro Route For Gr Noida West’: Mp Takes Residents To Min | Noida News – Times of India

Noida: MP Mahesh Sharma led a group of residents to meet the union minister for housing & urban affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri, for “an urgent need for metro connectivity in Greater Noida west”, on Friday.
With nearly 3 lakh people residing in Greater Noida west highrises and colonies, Sharma said, “Most of these residents travel to Delhi and Gurugram every day to earn their living.Due to the lack of a well-connected public transport system, they are forced to depend on personal vehicles for commuting. We requested the minister to expedite the project of Greater Noida west metro.”
Puri assured the delegation of a meeting with the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).
“A meeting will be held with the officials of NMRC and DMRC to discuss the issue and approve the detailed project report (DPR) of the project at the earliest,” Puri said.
Rashmi Pandey, president of Gautam Budh Nagar Vikas Samiti, who was also a part of this delegation added that the Greater Noida west metro has been pending for the last several years.
“The population will increase further in the coming days, and we need a robust public transport system to ease people’s commuting,” Pandey said.
Presently, NMRC is preparing a fresh DPR for an interchange of metro lines at DMRC’s Sector 61.
In the previous DPR, NMRC had proposed an interchange — a skywalk — between Aqua Line’s Sector 51 metro station and Blue Line’s Sector 52 metro station.
