NEET 2023 postponed in Manipur – Times of India

Guwahati: National Testing Agency (NTAAll India Medical Entrance NEET-UG 2023 exam has been postponed Manipur is scheduled for Sunday.
The new dates will be announced soon, the NTA said in a statement released on Saturday.
“On the request of the Government of Manipur and in view of the law and order situation, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – 2023, which was scheduled to be held on 7th May (Sunday), stands postponed only for those candidates who have registered in Manipur till further notice. Examination Centres,” read the public notice issued by NTA with Senior Director (Examination) Sadhna Parashar as its signatory.
Sources said around 8,000 candidates were scheduled to appear for the exam from 22 centers in Manipur. He said that there was no damage to the NEET exam centres, but the decision to postpone the exam has been taken to ensure the safety of the students.
Meanwhile, major student bodies of NE including North East Students’ Organization and All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) have appealed to the Manipur government to ensure the safety of students from other northeastern states in Manipur. AASU wrote a letter to the Chief Minister of Assam on Friday for the safe return of Assamese students and employees living in Manipur.
