Nepali national arrested for misbehaving in Air India: broke washroom door, assaulted crew member and passengers

Mahesh Singh Pandit, a resident of Nepal, was traveling in the flight coming from Toronto to Delhi. He changed his seat from 26E to 26F. When crew member Aditya Kumar stopped, the accused started pushing. Aditya complained about passenger Mahesh to the senior pilot, but after that Mahesh calmed down for some time.

Broke the door of the washroom after stopping him from smoking
After some time the accused went to the washroom and started smoking. When the crew members tried to stop him when the smoke alarm went off, he broke open the washroom door. When some other passengers came to stop, the accused tried to fight.

After this he was somehow controlled and on reaching Delhi he was handed over to the police. Police is investigating the case registered in the matter.

In January, a passenger on a SpiceJet flight, Absar Alam, molested an air hostess. A video of this incident also surfaced. In which the accused was seen shouting at the air hostess. After this incident, Absar and his fellow passenger were removed from the flight. Absar was a resident of Delhi’s Jamia Nagar. He was going to Hyderabad with his family. He was arrested after the complaint.

Passenger Shankar Mishra urinated on an elderly woman on a New York-Delhi flight of Air India on November 26. The airline did not take any action on this incident. The airline lodged an FIR with the Delhi Police. This action was taken when the victim elderly woman complained to the chairman of the Tata Group.

In this case, DGCA imposed a fine of 30 lakhs on the airline. DGCA suspended the pilot’s license for 3 months. Accused Shankar Mishra was also banned from air travel for 4 months.
