New Kitchen Equipment For Midday Meals In Schools Soon | Gurgaon News – Times of India

Gurgaon: Midday meals will now be prepared and served in new utensils for the students studying in govt schools in the state. The amount for purchasing utensils and kitchen equipment will be allocated by the education department based on the number of students in schools soon.
The Director General of Elementary Education has written to the District Elementary Education Officers seeking suggestions, post which an amount will be allocated to each school.Funds for purchasing utensils and kitchen equipment is provided by the Centre once in five years. As per the instructions of the govt, funds will be provided on the basis of the number of students registered in schools.
The Directorate of Elementary Education has sent a proforma to the district elementary education officers (DEEOs) to collect the details of the number of students in each school under their jurisdiction. The DEEOs will have to fill them and send them to the directorate within two days.
As per the norms set by the Centre, Rs 10,000 will be provided to schools with up to 50 students. Similarly, Rs 15,000 will be provided for the schools with the number of students between 51 to 100, Rs 20,000 to schools with strength between 151 and 250 and Rs 25,000 and above to the schools with a total strength of over 251. The new session for govt schools began on April 1 and the directorate plans to bring in the new equipment and utensils soon.
