NIA raids over 60 locations in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in Maoists case | Visakhapatnam News – Times of India

VISAKHAPATNAM: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday carried out searches at over 60 locations in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, suspecting that some people had links with Maoists and were supporting them financially.
The sleuths of NIA raided the residences of Maoist sympathisers, civil rights activists and advocates at Hyderabad, Guntur, Nellore, Tirupati and Srikakulam.
As per the reports, the NIA team raided the residence of Gurrapusala Ramakrishna at Narasaraopet in Palnadu district and the house of Nallapati Rama Rao at Jonnalagadda and similarly the houses of Pachalla Sipsora, S Kranti Kumar and few others.
The premises including, houses and offices, of the leaders of civil rights sympathizers who are suspected of having links with Naxal sympathizers in both the Telugu speaking states, were being searched.
It may be recalled that NIA conducted a series of raids in parts of Telangana and Chhattisgarh in connection with an August 2023 case involving the recovery of explosive materials, drones and a Lathe machined involving the banned CPI (Maoist) for use against the security forces. The NIA had registered cases against 12 people after the explosive materials were seized from three of them. EOM
