The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and an 8-member forensic team have left for Poonch to investigate the terror attack on army personnel in Kashmir. By 12.30 pm, the spot will reach Bhimber Gali area. The Bomb Disposal Squad and Special Operation Group (SOG) team went to investigate the entire area in the morning. The spot is 90 km from Poonch.

On the other hand, the search operation has been started by the security forces in the entire area. On Thursday, 5 soldiers of Rashtriya Rifles Unit were martyred in this attack. The attack took place at 3 pm in Rajouri sector when three army vehicles carrying soldiers were going towards Poonch from Bhimber Gali on the Rajouri-Poonch National Highway. Taking advantage of the heavy rain and low visibility, the terrorists ambushed a vehicle. After this, threw grenades and fired about 50 rounds. Due to this the vehicle caught fire.

The People’s Anti-Fascist Front (PAFF) has claimed responsibility for the attack. Yesterday in the afternoon, the army had called it an accident, but confirmed at 6:33 pm that it was a terrorist attack.

Who is PAFF… The name came to the fore after the removal of Article 370
People’s Anti-Fascist Front is a group supported by Pakistan based terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed. Only after the removal of Article 370, the name of PAFF started coming to the fore. The organization is inspired by Zakir Musa, the slain commander of Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, who is believed to be a loyalist of the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda.

Martyrs were residents of Odisha and Punjab
The martyrs have been identified as Lance Naik Debasish Baswal, Lance Naik Kulwant Singh, Sepoy Harkishan Singh, Sepoy Sewak Singh and Havildar Mandeep Singh. Of these, Lance Naik Debasish Baswal is a resident of Odisha, the other four martyrs are residents of Punjab.
