Nikita Dutta of Kabir Singh fame opens up about similarities between her and Triptii Dimri’s character Zoya in Animal | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

The Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial Animal has come out with flying colours at the box office. Each and every character from the film, be it Ranbir Kapoor‘s other love interest Triptii Dimri to Bobby Deol’s third wife Mansi Taxak, have stood out and garnered immense appreciation for their parts. And now Nikita Dutta, who rose to fame with her role of Jia Sharma in Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh, has drawn parallels between Jia and Triptii’s character of Zoya in Animal.
In Kabir Singh, Nikita played the other woman in Shahid’s life, which is much like Triptii who plays the other woman in Ranbir’s life in Animal. She admitted that these two other women were written with lots of nuanced complexities. She appreciated the character and that’s why she agreed to play it at that time.
“Not everybody gets it because people watched these films on the entertainment level. I was very happy with the character I played in Kabir Singh and Triptii’s character is similar here,” Nikita told News18.

‘Kabir Singh’ actress Nikita Dutta talks about the ‘similarities’ in her and Triptii Dimri’s role in ‘Animal’: ‘I hundred percent felt that…’

She lauded Triptii for her sensational performance in Animal and said that when she watched the film, she hundred per cent felt that Zoya stood out. “She was absolutely amazing in the part that she played and you’ve to deeply watch the films to understand that our characters were written with a lot of nuance,” she added.

Nikita then talked about how the success of Kabir Singh turned out to the head-start of the transition that she was looking for in terms of concentrating on the films that she wanted to do. She thanked her stars for saying yes to Kabir Singh. She also admitted that she didn’t anticipate the success that it got because she thought she was just playing any other character. But when the film came out, it was a huge surprise for the makers and her.

When asked about collaborating with Sandeep again, Nikita said that he is amazing to work with as a person and director. And if at all there’s something for her, she would love to work with him in the future.
