Mysore: Nikita In the results of the second PU declared on Friday, Shree BGS Girls PU College has secured the third rank in the state in commerce.
Janvi Chetan Patel of Adichungiri PU College has secured 593 marks in Science stream. He is the topper in Mysuru district and has secured fourth position in Karnataka. Jhanvi is the daughter of Chetan Patel, an R&D manager in a private firm in Mysore.
Ananya of Marimallappa PU College has topped the arts stream.
Nikita, daughter of farmer Parmish and homemaker Katyayini, said she was expecting the result. He also scored 100% in Economics, Business Studies, Accountancy, Computer Science and Kannada. He got 95 marks in English. The top rank holder has secured 600 marks and many share the second rank with 596 marks.
Nikita wants to become a Chartered Accountant.
Jhanvi’s father Chetan Patel said that he is proud of his daughter’s achievement and is confident that she will excel in the exam. Jhanvi said that she herself prepared for the exam and her teachers contributed to her achievement. She is currently preparing for NEET and CET exam and has written JEE exam. Jhanvi has secured 100% marks in Physics and Sanskrit. Ananya who secured 588 marks in Arts is keen to crack this exam Union Public Service Commission Examination
Mysuru district fares better
Mysuru has improved its ranking in 2023 after moving from 15th to 13th. The pass percentage has increased to 79.89%, which is 15% higher than last year’s 64.45%.
DDPU Nagamalesh said that they are a bit disappointed as they expected 85% result. A total of 28,944 students appeared in the exam in 2023 and out of which 23,124 have passed with a result of 79.89%. This year more than 87% science students, 81% commerce students and 65% arts students have passed. As always, girls outperformed boys with a pass percentage of 82% against 67% among boys.

Dhanalakshmi R, who was once forced to beg on the city streets before being rescued by an NGO, has cleared her pre-university exams this year. She now aspires to become an archaeologist.
As a child, Dhanalakshmi was forced to beg near the Mannar market and Boti market areas of the city. She was rescued by the Rural Literacy and Health Program (RLHP) in 2009.
RLHP director Saraswathi said Dhanalakshmi was brought to Asha Bhawan, a child care institute run by them, at the age of four. She was orphaned after her mother died after being rescued. Saraswati said, she has been a promising student and we are proud of her achievement.
Dhanalakshmi said that she wanted to become an archaeologist. A student of Arts, she has secured 390 marks in the examination.
