Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday said that the entry of Amul brand in Karnataka happened during the Congress rule. The Finance Minister said these things during a program in Bengaluru.

Nirmala said – I buy Nandini in Bangalore and Amul in Delhi
Nirmala Sitharaman said- When I came to Bangalore, I ate Nandini’s milk, curd and peda, while in Delhi I buy Amul’s milk. I represent Karnataka in Delhi, but it does not mean that I will not drink milk if Nandini milk is not available there. I will buy Amul milk and this is not to be against Karnataka.

Nandini brand also sells the product in other states
The Finance Minister said that the Nandini brand also sells its products in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Similarly, dairy products of other states are also sold in Karnataka. This is good competition. Because of this, India has become the largest milk producer in the world.

He said that first of all the Yeddyurappa government had increased the price of milk purchased from farmers by Rs 2/litre. Later, the current BJP government increased it to Rs 5/litre, which would benefit the farmers.
