Nitk: Nitk to host national level hackathon on April 15 Mangaluru News – Times of India

Mangaluru: National Institute of Technology Karnataka (Nothing), Surathkal, will host hackverse 4.0 is a 24-hour national level hackathon organized by budding engineers on 15th April. Applications for the program will close on 8 April.
This will be the first Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) hackathon organized by an engineering college in India. Additionally, this will be the first hackathon to include Metaverse integration ondcmaking it a unique and exciting opportunity for the participants.
Along with several other APIs, this year Hackverse will also allow students to develop on ONDC, which has been set up by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, government of India, Rajveer Singh, lead organizer of the event, told TOI.
Singh said the event is already creating buzz among the student community in India. HackVerse has become a leading platform for budding entrepreneurs and innovative minds to solve challenging issues across India. Since its inception in the Diamond Jubilee year 2019-20 of NITK, HackVerse has been instrumental in nurturing young talent and fostering the spirit of innovation. HackVerse 4.0 is all set to take innovation to the next level.
Another key event organizer Achintya Kumar said the hackathon has received substantial sponsorship from several companies including e-community, ONDC, Zolve and others. “The hackathon offers cash prizes of over Rs 2 lakh to the top performing teams. Apart from the cash prizes, the participants will also be given exciting gifts, platform credits and lots of other prizes.”
Last year, 173 students from around 50 teams were shortlisted for the online hackathon and this time it will be offline.
