NMC released notification for postponement of NEXT for 2019 MBBS batch. India News – Times of India

New Delhi: National Medical Commission (NMC) on Thursday issued a public notice announcing that national exit test ,next) has been postponed for the final year MBBS students of 2019 batch. The NMC said it follows a directive sent by the health ministry in this regard.
However, no announcement was made on the mock NExT scheduled to be held on July 28. NMC had recently introduced the rules for NExT 2023, stating that the exam would be conducted in two phases over a year.
Once the students pass the NExT Phase 1 exam, they will have to complete their one year internship. Their next stage 1 score will be considered for admission to postgraduate (PG) courses. After completing the internship, medical students have to qualify the NExT Phase 2 exam to be eligible to obtain a license and registration to practice modern medicine in India.
In a gazette notification, the NMC said that NEXT will serve as the basis for certifying the eligibility of medical graduates to register and practice modern medicine in India. It will serve as a licensure exam.
Additionally, NExT will be used to determine eligibility and ranking for admission to PG medical education in various medical specialities. It will serve as an entrance exam for PG medical courses.
