No Need to Visit PS for Passport Verification: Bihar Police Launches ‘Mission Jan Seva’ | Patna News – Times of India

PATNA: The Bihar Police have decided to run ‘Mission Jan Seva’ in order to provide police services offline as well as in online mode to citizens. Now, the people will not have to rush to the police stations to get services like verification of passport, licence, character certificate or other such works as they can apply for such services online.
The nodal agency for the initiative will be the law and order department of Bihar Police.ADG (HQ) Jitendra Singh Gangwar said on Friday, “People will get online help for several documents. They can also register complaints related to mobile phone and vehicle theft and chain snatching. The e-FIR and e-station diary facility will be available online. ID verification filters will be used on the website to identify the complainants.”
Gangwar further said the Dial-112 police service will be available across the state within 20 minutes. During the phase-1 of the mission, 400 vehicles will be deployed in the state, including 100 in Patna. A total of 883 four-wheelers and 550 two-wheelers will be deployed in the ERSS 24×7 Emergency Police Response. A target of 30 minutes has been set to listen to the complainants and the complaints will be investigated in 30 days, he said.
“WhatsApp groups will be made at the village and colony levels so that important information could be shared to people. Common people could get associated with the police via social media groups voluntarily. The police officials will listen to the public grievances through Facebook live and videoconferencing. The facility has been started in all the districts this month after successful completion of pilot projects in five districts — Patna, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Bhagalpur and Gaya,” he added.
