Pilot had said at a meeting here on May 15 that he would launch a statewide agitation if the three demands made to the state government were not met by the end of this month.
Rajasthan Congress in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa on Thursday said that dissident Congress leader Sachin Pilot has not given any “ultimatum” to him or the party high command for the statewide protest over their demands.
He also said that Pilot will attend the party meeting to be held in New Delhi on Friday.
Sachin Pilot has never given an ultimatum to the Congress till date. Only those who have been given the ultimatum can answer this. I have not received any ultimatum and if the pilot has given an ultimatum to the high command, I will respond immediately.
Pilot had said at a meeting here on May 15 that he would launch a statewide agitation if the three demands made to the state government were not met by the end of this month. Pilot, as one of his demands, has demanded a high-level inquiry into the alleged scams that took place during the tenure of former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje government.
Asked if Pilot would attend the meeting in Delhi, Randhawa said, “Do you have any doubt about it?” Is he not the leader of the Congress party? Watch tomorrow’s meeting, you will get the answer.” He said the meeting in Delhi is being held to discuss the strategy for the upcoming assembly elections, not only for Rajasthan but also for the states.
Randhawa also said that a party is like a house where people have different opinions and quarrels also happen. He said that if there is any infighting within the party, it will be controlled.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday said that the Congress would return to power in Rajasthan if it fought the upcoming assembly elections with unity.
Gehlot avoided a question on dissident Congress leader Sachin Pilot, saying everyone in the Congress accepts the high command’s decision.
