Nothing is ready for industry-first phone (2) to expand offline footprint in India

New Delhi: After addressing quality concerns in the Nothing phone (1) through 10 software updates, the global technology brand is now all set to launch the phone (2) soon, with definite plans to further diversify offline in the country , its top Indian executive said on Monday.

`On Flipkart, we now have a rating of 4.4 for Nothing Phone (1) from the earlier rating of 4.2 after improving the user experience. When we launched Android 13 on the phone (1), the response from users was great. We will be taking our learnings to the phone (2), which will be an industry first with our iconic design philosophy,” Sharma elaborated.

The company’s first product Year (1) received a good response. Following its success, the company’s smartphone product phone (1) was launched in July 2022.

“We now have 2,000 offline stores in India. We are likely to launch our retail stores in India next year as we expand our product portfolio,” Sharma told IANS.

The Nothing Phone (1) is currently being manufactured in India and the company continues to evaluate more opportunities as it moves forward.

“India has long been a very strong manufacturing hub and continues to be so with a lot of focus on mobile exports. We will need to evaluate more opportunities in partnerships so that we can also manufacture more in the country.” Sharma noted.

“We are well positioned to grow in the premium segment by continuing to work with the government and partners. We have strengthened our engineering teams and are spending a lot of time building new facilities,” Sharma told IANS. “

With the pace of “premiumization” increasing amid 5G adoption, the smartphone remains an important electronics product in people’s lives.

“We have established our presence in the country, improved the user experience and are now focussing on the success of the phone (2),” Sharma told IANS.
