Nothing Phone 2a is going to be a more budget-friendly version of the flagship Phone 2.

Nothing says it’s their third phone, and what could be a budget option, the Phone 2a, is official, but there’s a lot to be revealed about it. Read on to know what it may offer.

After months of speculation and leaks about the Nothing Phone 2a, the London-based startup founded by Carl Pei has come forward to acknowledge the existence of the said device, but hasn’t revealed a release date yet.

This information came to light after Nothing revealed the same in a post on X (formerly Twitter): “See the world through fresh eyes, Phone (2a) is coming,” Nothing posted. Moreover, the company has even added a new page on its official website that conveys the same message, but without a mentioned release window.

The phone is codenamed ‘Aerodactyl’ and will be a toned-down version of the flagship Nothing Phone 2, which is priced at Rs 44,999. The Nothing Phone 2a may be priced more aggressively and could be sold for much less, especially considering that the Nothing Phone 2 is currently available in deals around the Rs 35,000-Rs 40,000 mark.

Additionally, the Nothing Phone 2a is expected to feature a 6.7-inch OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chipset, and coupled with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of base storage.

Regarding the optics, the phone may feature a dual-camera setup consisting of a wide and an ultrawide lens, with the primary allegedly sharing the same 50MP shooter as the Nothing Phone 2.

Also, Nothing’s signature – the glyph lighting system – is expected to be present on the device, continuing the aesthetic introduced with the Nothing Phone 1.
