‘now, Ludhiana Admin Is Just A Social Media Post Away’ | Ludhiana News – Times of India

Ludhiana: Newly-appointed deputy commissioner (DC) Sakshi Sawhney said that Ludhiana residents can now post their complaints and grievances on the administration’s official X (formerly Twitter) account.
A dedicated team handling the accounts will report the important posts to her office, she said. Such complaints will be forwarded to the authorities concerned and a proper mechanism would be evolved to address these issues promptly.
The DC said it was a better conversation medium widely used nowadays and this mode will be effectively used to reach out to maximum people.
She said any Ludhiana resident could reach the administration directly and a quick response will be rendered.
While assuming the charge here on Tuesday, the DC said that top priority would be accorded to effective implementation of the government’s schemes and policies besides ensuring a clean, transparent and responsive administration to the people.
Sawhney, a 2014-batch IAS officer, said a transparent mechanism would be devised for further streamlining the administrative functioning in the district.
She said being an industrial hub, Ludhiana is an important district and every effort would be made to implement pro-people and development-oriented policies of the state government to benefit the masses.
Earlier, on her arrival here, she was also given a guard of honour at the district administrative complex by a contingent of Punjab Police.
Before serving as Patiala DC, she was an additional secretary (coordination) and staff officer of chief secretary, Punjab, Chandigarh, ADC (G) at SAS Nagar, and ADC (D) at Bathinda.
