Bollywood Nushrratt Bharuccha was recently stranded in Israel after Hamas, a Palestinian Islamist militant group, attacked the country. She was unable to contact her team initially but reconnected with them on Sunday morning and informed them about her return. A day after coming back to India, Nishrratt took to her soial media platforms on Tuesday evening and dropped a video recalling 38 ‘daunting’ hours she spent in Israel.

“The last week will forever remain etched in my memory…a rollercoaster ride of emotions, the final 36 hours of which will remain the most unforgettable and daunting of my life,” she said in a video she shared on her Instagram handle. Watch it here:

She also penned a strong worded note on the same on her Instagram handle. She wrote, “The last week will forever remain etched in my memory…a rollercoaster ride of emotions, the final 36 hours of which will remain the most unforgettable and daunting of my life…”

On a closing note she added, “As someone who has barely escaped a war zone, I cannot be more grateful today…l’m back home and safe with my family and my loved ones. But with an experience that has made me immensely grateful for the safety and security that we almost take for granted. I am ever so grateful to Government of India, the Indian Embassy and the Israeli Embassy, for their help and guidance in bringing my team and me back safe. I would also like to thank each and every one of my well-wishers from the bottom of my heart for their wishes and prayers for my safety.”

Nushrratt was in Israel to attend the Haifa International Film Festival. Her film Akelli was showcased at the film festival. On Saturday, when the attack took place, her team told India Today that they spoke to Nushrratt shortly after the attack but they had lost touch with her since Saturday afternoon. They said that she was in a basement of a building, protecting herself from the attacks.
