Baripada: A 70-year-old tribal woman was allegedly murdered by a villager on suspicion of practicing witchcraft in the village. Orissa‘s Mayurbhanj District Seoni, police Said on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as gangi jamuda of badamtolia Villages of Jamda police station area
Madan Pingua (60) A resident of the same village beat up an elderly tribal woman with sticks on Saturday night as she suspected that she was practicing witchcraft which was causing diseases in her family.
The seriously injured Jamuda was admitted to the sub-divisional hospital Rairangpur, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Inspector-in-Charge of Jamda police station said that the police have registered a case and arrested the accused Madan Pingua, Kamalakanta Das.
