Odisha man fleeing to Chhattisgarh after stealing from Gujarat temple apprehended in Nagpur | Nagpur News – Times of India

NAGPUR: A man from Odisha, identified as Antaryami Prema Das (51), was apprehended by the police in Nagpur on Saturday while attempting to escape to Chhattisgarh. Das, a resident of Balipada village in Ganjam district, had allegedly committed a theft at an ISKCON temple in Vadodara, Gujarat on April 11.
The police recovered stolen gold and silver items worth Rs 32 lakh from Das’s possession.”The theft in the ISKCON temple in Gujarat took place on April 11. Das was fleeing to Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh when we were alerted by Gujarat police. We managed to trace him to a bus here,” said an official from the Wadi police station.
Further investigation revealed that Das has a criminal history, with theft cases registered against him at Ganeshpeth and Tehsil police stations in Nagpur district.
