Odisha’s Tableau To Roll Down After 3 Yrs | Bhubaneswar News – Times of India

Bhubaneswar: After three years, the tableau from Odisha will roll down the Kartavya Path during the Republic Day parade in New Delhi on Friday.
The 45-ft long, 14-ft wide and 16-ft high tableau will showcase women empowerment, the heritage crafts village of Raghurajpur and the exquisite pattachitra art. The tableau will be accompanied by Sambalpuri dancers during the parade.The front part of the tableau will be decorated with Kandarpa Hathi, an intricately-made elephant with Lord Krishna sitting on the top of it. Women will be depicted on the body of Kandarpa Hati showcasing the unsurmountable grit, determination, skill and talent of women artists of Raghurajpur. The tableau will show how women artisans have contributed to the global positioning of Raghurajpur and their entrepreneurial skills in selling the handicrafts online.
