The makers of Adipurush have shared a new poster of Hanuman from the film on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. The poster features actor Devdutt Nag as Hanuman. Adipurush, directed by Om Raut, stars Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles.
Devdutt Nag is in meditation posture in the new poster. In the background, we get a glimpse of Prabhas, who plays Raghav in the magnum opus. Sharing the poster on social media, Prabhas wrote on his Instagram account: “Bhakt of Ram and soul of Ramkatha… Jai Pawanputra Hanuman. Adipurush will release globally in theaters on June 16, 2023.”
The poster is getting mixed response on social media. Prabhas’s fans are praising the poster fiercely. A fan commented, “Adipurush is going to be a cinematic revelation. Jai Shri Ram.” Another fan wrote, “Prabhas is about to blow us away with his performance in Adipurush.” However, a section of the internet found the poster “impressive”. A user wrote, “What did you do with Hanumanji I know about all the positive comments but to me it still doesn’t look like our Hanumanji,” commented another.
A police complaint was filed against Adipurush makers in Mumbai for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus in the recent poster of the film. The makers of Adipurush had unveiled the poster in question on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami.
According to a report in India Today.co.in, Sanjay Deenanath Tiwari, through Mumbai High Court advocates Ashish Rai and Pankaj Mishra, filed a complaint against producer, artist and director Om Raut at the Sakinaka police station. The complainant described himself as a preacher of Sanatan Dharma.
The complaint states that “The religious sentiments of the Hindu Dharma Samaj have been hurt by filmmaker Om Raut by inappropriately depicting the character of the Hindi religious text Ramcharitmanas in the new poster of the film.”
