One person was killed and a police officer was “critically” wounded in a shooting at a Tennessee library Thursday, officials said.
Officers were called to the Poplar-White Station Library at approximately 12:30 p.m., tweeted the Memphis Police Department. Police said both the man and the officer were shot. Police said the man was pronounced dead at the library and the officer was taken to a hospital and “remains in very serious condition”.

Other details about the shooting and initial call were not immediately released. Police said more information will be released when it becomes available.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said the Shelby County prosecutor has asked it to investigate.
