MUMBAI: Five persons fell in an open drain at Sewri Gadi Bunder near Rupji Kanji Chawl in Sewri. While 19-year-old Mehboob Ismail died in the incident, another person, Salim (25) is in critical condition. The incident was reporter in the early hours of Sunday, around 3 am.
The five labourers of a private contractor fell in the rain during the repairing work of the box drain was in progress through the storm water drain department. The Mumbai Fire Brigade, police, 108 ambulance and staff from the ward office were among the agencies mobilised after the incident.
The injured were rush to the KEM Hospital, where one of the labourers was declared dead. Three others Shafakul (22), Korem (35) and Morsalin (30) are admitted and their condition is reported to be stable.
