‘one Vehicle One Fastag’ Norm Kicks In Today | Delhi News – Times of India

New Delhi: Vehicle owners who have more than one Fastag for their vehicles won’t be able to use the older ones ‘anytime’ from Monday. NHAI had set March 31, 2024 as the deadline for implementation of ‘One Vehicle, One Tag’. Officials said that most of the Fastag users have complied with the KYC norms.
“There is hardly any issue with KYC compliance for Fastag according to RBI guidelines. But people who have multiple tags for one vehicle won’t be able to use all of them as we are not extending the deadline. Barring the latest tag, all old tags will get deactivated anytime,” said an official.
NHAI is implementing the One Vehicle, One Fastag norm after reports of multiple tags being issued for a particular vehicle had surfaced. There have been instances of people deliberately not fixing the tags on their vehicles’ windscreen. There were also instances when owners of heavy vehicles crossed toll plazas by paying the user fee of a car or a smaller vehicle.
