The Congress Legislature Party meeting was held in Bengaluru to discuss the formation of the new government in Karnataka. In which 3 observers arrived from Delhi. A resolution was passed in the meeting that Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge will decide the name of the leader of the Legislature Party i.e. the next CM of the state. Congress Karnataka Chief DK Shivakumar and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah are at the forefront of the CM race.

Kharge asked the observers to send a report after taking the opinion of all the MLAs, on which the party high command would take a decision. Congress Committee’s Karnataka in-charge Randeep Surjewala said, ‘Siddaramaiah made this proposal in the meeting, which D.K. All senior leaders including Shivkumar supported.

However, supporters of both the leaders have pasted posters at various places in Bengaluru demanding the appointment of CM.

On the other hand, the very next day after the Karnataka assembly results, the central government appointed the state’s DGP Praveen Sood as the new director of the CBI. The tenure of the current CBI director Subodh Kumar Jaiswal ends on May 25, the same day Sood can join. On March 14, two months before the assembly elections, DK Shivakumar called the DGP incompetent.

3 observers Sushil Kumar Shinde, Deepak Bawaria and Bhanwar Jitendra Singh who reached Bangalore from Delhi had one-to-one talks with all the MLAs. Shivakumar-Siddaramaiah’s supporters shouted slogans outside during the ongoing Legislature Party meeting at Shangrila Hotel in Bengaluru. Today is also the 62nd birthday of DK Shivakumar.

According to Congress sources, the Congress High Command is also discussing the rotation formula. This includes making one leader the CM in half the term and then another. Apart from this, it is also being considered to make leaders coming from different communities of the state as deputy CMs. According to sources, an agreement is expected to be reached between Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah regarding this formula.
