OpenAI launches ChatGPT for iOS in 11 more countries except India

After launching ChatGPT for iOS in the US last week, OpenAI has rolled out the app in 11 more countries outside India.

The app will now be available in countries like France, UK, Jamaica, Korea, Ireland, Nicaragua, Albania, Croatia, etc.

OpenAI’s CTO Meera Murati announced the launch in 11 more countries.

In a tweet, Murati wrote that the ChatGPT app for iOS is now available in the above countries and will be rolled out to other countries soon.

In its blog post, the company said, “With the ChatGPT app for iOS, we are taking another step towards our mission by turning cutting-edge research into useful tools that empower people while making them ever more accessible. “

The San Francisco-based company launched ChatGPT Plus in India in March.

Unlike the web version, questions can be asked using voice.

The free app will later be made available for Android phones as well.

Users who pay for OpenAI’s ChatGPT Plus subscription can also access its most powerful large language model, GPT-4, through the app.

Last week, OpenAI said the ChatGPT app for Apple’s iOS would remain ad-free but “sync your history across devices”.

“We are starting our rollout in the US and will expand to additional countries in the coming weeks,” OpenAI said in a blog post.

The app can also offer “guidance on cooking, travel plans or crafting thoughtful messages,” the startup said.

The powers of ChatGPT are already available on smartphones through Microsoft’s Bing search app, which uses technology from OpenAI.

Since its release on the Web late last year, millions of people have experimented with ChatGPT and other bots — such as Bard, created by Alphabet Inc’s Google.

Earlier in February, OpenAI launched a pilot subscription plan for its popular AI-powered chatbot called ChatGPT Plus, priced at $20 per month.
