Oppenheimer poster: Christopher Nolan, Cillian Murphy ‘ready to tear the world apart’

Universal Pictures has released the first poster of Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film “Oppenheimer,” starring Cillian Murphy as the theoretical physicist considered the father of the atomic bomb. Key art was shared by the studio on the film’s official Twitter on Thursday with the tagline “The World Forever Changes”.

The poster puts Murphy’s Oppenheimer front and center as viewers can only see the silhouette of him walking across a site shaken by a nuclear explosion. The Oppenheimer biopic also stars Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr. and Florence Pugh, opposite Murphy.

Shot with IMAX film cameras, the film is written for the screen and directed by Nolan. “Oppenheimer” is set to be released in theaters on July 21, 2023.

It is based on the Pulitzer Prize winning book “American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer” by Kai Bird and the late Martin J. Sherwin.

Rami Malek, Benny Safdie, Josh Hartnett, Dane DeHaan, Zack Quaid, Matthew Modine, Alden Ehrenreich, David Dustmalchian, Michael Angarano, Mathias Schweighofer, Gary Oldman, Harrison Gilbertson, Emma Dumont, Devon Bostick and Tron Fousa were also rounded out. The cast of the film.

Nolan’s last directorial debut was the globe-trotting sci-fi action thriller “Tenet”, which released in 2020.
