A one-day seminar was organized here on Wednesday on the sources of knowledge of Indian culture and tradition. It was jointly organized by Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) and the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH).

Event coordinator b. Nalini said the aim of the symposium was to introduce people to the ideas and concepts of age-old traditions, which they often fail to recognise. He said that it helps to keep our culture and tradition intact and preserve it for a long time.

J. Shanmugaraja, Assistant Professor, Department of Modern History School of Historical Studies, MKU elaborated Sapta Rishis Who excelled in the field of arts shaping civilization and contributed to the development of science. He also spoke about sage Agastya, who is considered the father of Siddha medicine.

In addition, Sav Elanchezian, Associate Professor, Department of Architecture, Thiagarajar College of Engineering, and S. Santhana Ayyappa Sundararaj spoke on fine arts in Tamil culture as well as nature-based solutions used in home gardening in the context of traditional farming methods and culture. respectively.
