Islamabad: Prime Minister of Pakistan shehbaz sharif Condemned the deadly protests by supporters of former Prime Minister Imran Khan following his arrest in a corruption case on Wednesday and warned of strict action against the protesters.
The Prime Minister delivered a brief address to the nation after the country was gripped by deadly violence during the last two days, which saw attacks on military installations and state properties.
The Prime Minister said, “Attack on public property is an act of terrorism and enmity towards the country.” Those taking the law into their hands would be dealt with strictly, he said.
“He will be given an exemplary punishment,” he added.
The premier said, “Defending the state and ideology of Pakistan is more precious to us than our lives and we will not allow anyone to conspire against it” and vowed to thwart the “nefarious designs” of enemies.
He accused Khan and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of causing serious damage to sensitive establishments in the country.

The PM said, ‘Not only political opponents but also family and relatives were not forgiven.’ He said that the political history of the country has been very bitter.
Shehbaz also said that never in history has vendetta in politics yielded good results.
He said that under the old accountability law, a person could be arrested for 90 days and getting bail was “impossible” but his government amended the law to reduce the remand period from 90 to 15 days.
Talking about Khan’s arrest, Shehbaz said that ‘all evidence’ was available in the Al-Qadir Trust case against the PTI chairman and the cabinet was kept in the dark.
“How can there be a cabinet decision when the matter is about 60 billion rupees to the national exchequer?” He asked.
