New Delhi: Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri criticized it on Tuesday Congress on his objection to the opening of the new Parliament Formed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging that the party lacked a “national spirit and sense of pride” in India’s progress.
The minister asked why Congress leaders can’t “just smile” and join this momentous achievement and India’s journey towards greatness.
The Congress has accused the government of disrespecting constitutional decorum and demanded that President Draupadi Murmu inaugurate instead of the Prime Minister.

Puri, whose ministry has undertaken the construction of the building, put out a series of tweets questioning the Congress.
“Why can’t they join the nation in celebrating the making of this valuable asset as a new India, a temple of the mother of all democracies, a new India,” Puri said.
