Ulhasnagar: A dangerous part if Dwarka Dham building Collapsed in Ulhasnagar on Thursday.
However, no casualties were reported as the Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation (UMC) had already sent a notice before the monsoon to evacuate the residents of the building.
UMC officials said that the incident took place on Thursday late evening. Ramayana Nagar Ulhasnagar-3 area and it is said that the building has been vacated by giving notice from time to time.
Ganesh ShimpiThe Assistant Municipal Commissioner said, “Since there was a high-pressure power line on the side of the building, a part of the debris fell on it, causing a short circuit and disrupting the power supply. There was no loss of life at this time.”
The building had A and B wings and had a total of 66 flats and a shop. Municipal council The DDA had already declared the said building as dangerous and got the building vacated before the monsoon.
It has been raining continuously in the city for the last two days and the structure of the A wing of the said building suddenly collapsed between 7.30 pm on Thursday.
As soon as the incident happened, Chief Fire Officer Balu Netke, Additional Commissioner Jamir Lengrekar reached the spot and got the area around the building cleaned.
Municipal administration has already issued notices to the citizens living in dangerous buildings and extremely dangerous buildings have been evacuated.
Jamir Lengrekar, Additional Municipal Commissioner, UMC, said, “Though some dangerous buildings are in such a condition that they need to be vacated and repaired, some citizens live secretly in such buildings without vacating or repairing them.” Therefore, citizens and former public representatives, social workers are requested that if any citizen is hiding in such a dangerous building, they should immediately inform the concerned ward officers of the Municipal Corporation.
