Parth Pawar says only ‘ajoba’ & ‘aatya’ matter, others irrelevant | Pune News – Times of India

PUNE: Deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar‘s elder son Parth said that among the Pawar family, the only two people who mattered the most to him were ‘ajoba’ (grandfather Sharad Pawar) and ‘aatya’ (aunt Supriya Sule) while the others were ‘irrelevant’.
He was speaking to TOI on Wednesday. He did not refer to his uncle Shriniwas who had called his father ‘nalayak manoos’ a few days ago or his cousin Rohit.”Members in the family can speak anything they wish to. That is not in my control,” he said.
Showing respect to senior members of the Pawar family, Parth said, “For me, my aatya’s family matters. Another Pawar family that I respect immensely is (cousin) Abhijit Pawar’s. We don’t want to make a mockery of this situation because we are not interested in being in the limelight. We are what we are. So the rest of the Pawars and what they say are irrelevant to my life in political circles. What matters to me are ‘ajoba’ and Supriya aatya, that’s it.”
Parth, who has been given the responsibility for other constituencies, will be campaigning for the NCP led by his father outside Baramati. For now, his younger brother Jay is campaigning in Baramati for the party. Their mother Sunetra is the likely candidate for Baramati Lok Sabha seat and will be pitted against Sule.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha poll, Parth had contested on the NCP ticket from Maval seat but lost to Shiv Sena’s Shrirang Barne.
Parth said that at the party backend, efforts were being made to plan campaign strategies for the next few weeks till polling day. “Whichever seats we get or probable seats that our party is vying for, I will be concentrating on them for now. Jay will be campaigning in Baramati and I shall join him later in April,” he said.
