NMMC city engineer Sanjay Desai said, “Repair and maintenance work has begun on the main line and water treatment plant, due to which we have to enforce a 12-hour shutdown as a pre-monsoon preparation.”
People are facing problems due to water cut without alternative arrangements. As per the NMMC report, there is only 30% stock in the dam which can stretch till the first week of August. In case of late arrival of monsoon, the civic body will give priority to rationing of water supply. Residents are now facing no supply for one day a week with the nodal wise rationing system in place.
