A Nepali passenger misbehaved with the crew member, smoked in the toilet, broke open the door and assaulted other passengers on Air India’s Toronto-Delhi flight. This incident happened on 8 July. Police arrested the accused as soon as he reached Delhi.

Air India gave this information on Wednesday.

Mahesh Singh Pandit, a resident of Nepal, was traveling in flight number AI188 coming from Toronto to Delhi. He changed his seat from 26E to 26F. When crew member Aditya Kumar stopped, the accused started pushing him. Aditya complained about passenger Mahesh to the senior pilot, but after that Mahesh calmed down for some time.

Stopped smoking cigarettes then broke the toilet door
After some time the accused went to the washroom and started smoking. When the crew members tried to stop him when the smoke alarm went off, he broke open the washroom door. When some other passengers came to stop, the accused thrashed them.

After this he was somehow controlled and on reaching Delhi he was handed over to the police. Police is investigating the case registered in the matter. The incident was also informed to the DGCA.

In recent times, the incidents of misbehavior of passengers in flight are increasing. On June 24, a male passenger on Air India’s Mumbai-Delhi flight misbehaved.

Air India flight had to return to the airport in April due to the misbehavior of the passenger during the flight. An airline official said that a passenger on AI-111 flight from Delhi to London started fighting with the crew members. assaulted them. 2 crew members got injuries. The airline said the flight was bound for London’s Heathrow.

In January, a passenger on a SpiceJet flight, Absar Alam, molested an air hostess. A video of this incident also surfaced. In which the accused was seen shouting at the air hostess. After this incident, Absar and his fellow passenger were removed from the flight. Absar was a resident of Delhi’s Jamia Nagar. He was going to Hyderabad with his family. He was arrested after the complaint.

Passenger Shankar Mishra urinated on an elderly woman on an Air India New York-Delhi flight on November 26. The airline did not take any action on this incident. The airline lodged an FIR with the Delhi Police. This action was taken when the victim elderly woman complained to the chairman of the Tata Group.

In this case, DGCA imposed a fine of 30 lakhs on the airline. DGCA suspended the pilot’s license for 3 months. Accused Shankar Mishra was also banned from air travel for 4 months.
