An incident of assault has come to light in an Air India flight going from Sydney to Delhi. A passenger slapped a senior officer of Air India.

Not only this, the passenger also twisted the officer’s neck and abused him. All this because the officer stopped him from talking loudly.

The passenger was detained at the Delhi airport following a complaint by the crew member, following which he apologized to the officer in writing.

According to media reports, this incident is of July 9. The airline recently reported the matter to the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), after which the matter has come to the fore.

The passenger also misbehaved with the crew member for refusing to talk loudly.

There was a fight for refusing to talk loudly
Air India said that Sandeep Verma, head of Air India’s in-flight services, was also traveling in the flight. His ticket was in business class, but due to non-availability of seats there, he was given a seat in 30-C of economy class.

There were other passengers sitting on 30-C so he sat in row number 25. There a passenger was talking loudly. The officer asked the passenger to slow down, but the passenger slapped him, tried to wring his neck, and abused him.

When even five cabin crew members could not restrain the passenger, the officer was made to sit on the second seat. Even after this, he kept playing with the passenger emergency equipment and kept roaming from here to there in the plane.

Passenger was released after apologizing in writing
Thereafter, the cabin supervisor was called and the passenger was warned verbally and in writing. According to sources, despite the assault, no measures were taken to control the passenger.

After the flight landed in Delhi, the passenger was handed over to airport security officials. Here the passenger apologized in writing to the officer, after which he was allowed to go. However, Air India said that legal action will be taken against the passenger.

In January, a passenger on a SpiceJet flight, Absar Alam, molested an air hostess. A video of this incident also surfaced. In which the accused was seen shouting at the air hostess.

After this incident, Absar and his fellow passenger were removed from the flight. Absar was a resident of Delhi’s Jamia Nagar. He was going to Hyderabad with his family. He was arrested after the complaint.

Urine incident happened in Air India flight itself.

Passenger Shankar Mishra urinated on an elderly woman on an Air India New York-Delhi flight on November 26. The airline did not take any action on this incident. The airline lodged an FIR with the Delhi Police. This action was taken when the victim elderly woman complained to the chairman of the Tata Group.

In this case, DGCA imposed a fine of 30 lakhs on the airline. DGCA suspended the pilot’s license for 3 months. Accused Shankar Mishra was also banned from air travel for 4 months.
