Along with this, after the water level of Sutlej rose in village Auliyapur of Nawanshahar on Sunday morning, the boat driver tried to bring people from the other side of the river in a boat towards Balachaur by negligence. The boat wobbled due to the strong current. The boatman brought the boat to the shore with great difficulty and the people present there saved the life of the boat and the people sitting in it by throwing the rope.

SDM Parleen Kaur Brar took charge of the situation during the night itself. Tehsildar and other staff along with him reached the village and kept an eye on the situation. The special thing is that the people working under MNREGA were also engaged in controlling the situation along with the district administration.

The water level has started rising in Ferozepur as well. At 8 am, 81338 cusecs of water was released from Harike head towards Hussainiwala head, while 76580 cusecs of water is being released from Hussainiwala head to Pakistan.

On the other hand, many villages of Sardulgarh are still under water. The water has receded a bit in Sadhugarh, but still this village is surrounded by water from all sides. The people here now need support and help, for which they are appealing to the district administration.

Today, neither in Punjab nor in Haryana, the Meteorological Department has given any alert for rain, due to which the water level of the rivers, which was increased in the past, is expected to decrease slightly.
